Silent Install??
I have never had a PC game take 20 minutes to install. Granted, if I do buy DMC4 (and I likely will) it will be the 360 version anyway. But even if I bought the PC version, I bet it won't take 20 minutes to install. But then, I don't have Blu-Ray, so that is likely the only reason for the slow-ass install on PS3.

Now try to install WP8 Suite. The next simplest choice is to search your Win98 CD and find the 2 files WMS.EXE and run the appropriate one (ie US or International). This installs Windows Messaging. Alternatively if you do not wish to install Windows Messaging in full: For Win95, copy MAPWIN95.

Well, computers were this way long before 1997, what's your gripe again? go to the CDROM and install Win98 This comes with a boot disk. It is also a bootable CD, I noticed. If you lose the CD and are too dumb to configure the BIOS to allow the CD-ROM as a boot device to load before the HD, tough luck to you.

I recently did a download only install of IE 5.01 SP2 for the same OS. I just did an Extract on both cab files you name and it appears they each contain a single embedded cab file which in turn contain a set of files that in some cases are partial since they span from the previous, or into the next, cab file.

question about driver install order
When you install a package, the install procedure fills the +REQUIRED_BY file for all dependencies of this package. Of course this requires that dependencies have been installed previously. If you use pkg_add -f you can very well install a port before its dependencies, and so the +REQUIRED_BY will be corrupt. start
